The Dunellen Education Foundation is a non-profit organization, established in September, 1997 with the following mission:
To support educational, not-for-profit and community-related programs that provide the knowledge and skills to face the challenges of an increasingly complex and competitive world.
This mission is derived from a set of beliefs that:
Education is the single most important investment this nation and our community can make to improve its future.
Schools cannot function in a vacuum. Parental, Community and Private Sector involvement is necessary to provide a full and effective education.
Teachers should have the ability to research, create and test innovative programs to educate our children.
Parents, like other professionals, need opportunities to continually learn and improve their skills in order to provide a learning-friendly home environment.
Each year the Foundation sponsors two events to raise funds for grants. Every Fall, the Foundation holds a 5K Run for Education. Spring fundraisers have a different program each year.
Any individual, not-for-profit, civic organization can apply for an Education Foundation grant. However, all funded programs must be held within the borough of Dunellen, NJ USA. The Dunellen Education Foundation does not provide scholarships or funding for programs held abroad.
